The 5th International Sparkling Wine Festival delighted visitors with its diversity and incomparable sparkling atmosphere. A big thank you goes to the 83 exhibitors who made this success possible with their passion and their outstanding sparkling wines.

A total of 95 wineries presented more than 200 sparkling wines of the highest quality. Around 400 enthusiastic visitors immersed themselves in the fascinating world of sparkling wine, tasting, discussing and giving the festival a special dynamism with their curiosity and enthusiasm.

A highlight was the official opening by representatives of the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Economics, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture and the City of Mainz Department of Economic Affairs. This underlined the growing importance of the festival as a central platform for the sparkling wine industry.

On the following day, the Sparkling Wine Symposium provided valuable insights into current and future issues in sparkling wine production. Exciting presentations covered topics such as biodynamic viticulture, the use of fungus-resistant grape varieties (PIWI) and the trend towards non-alcoholic sparkling wines. The programme was complemented by scientific papers on the role of dégorgement and the influence of different crown corks on flavour.

The 5th International Sparkling Wine Festival was not only a meeting place for wine professionals and enthusiasts, but also a lively forum for the exchange of knowledge, experience and inspiration.
